Using Oil & Electric

Short version: we show the prices suppliers post so you can compare them. The deal you make is between you and the supplier, so confirm the price when you order.

Prices and listings

Prices come from suppliers themselves, from their websites, and from official state and federal sources. We check them and say where each one came from, but a price can change during the day, carry conditions, or be wrong. Always confirm the price, delivery area and terms with the supplier before you order. We don’t sell fuel or electricity and aren’t part of any sale.

Business details come from public license records, open map data and the businesses’ own websites. A listing doesn’t mean we recommend the business, and the order of a list never reflects anything but price and distance.

Price alerts

Alerts are free. We send them when the prices we see change; we can’t promise every drop reaches you or that the price is still available when you call. Every alert email has a link to change or stop it.

For suppliers

By creating a supplier account, you confirm that:

• you’re authorized to act for the business;
• the prices you post are real prices available that day to homes in the towns you list, for the delivery size and payment method you choose;
• we may show your business name, contact details, service area, terms and prices on this site and through our API.

We may hold a price for review, label it, or take it down if it looks wrong or misleading, and we may suspend an account that posts prices it doesn’t honour. You can stop posting or close your account at any time.

Corrections and removal

If your business is listed, you can claim the listing to correct it. If you’d rather not be listed, say so in the “Anything we should know?” box when you claim it and we’ll remove it.
